Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing and using HTMLColor, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our web tools.

2. Permitted use

HTMLColor tools are provided free of charge for personal, educational, and commercial design and development tasks. You may freely use, modify, and distribute any color values, CSS code snippets, or palettes generated by the platform.

No account or registration is required, and no attribution is needed for anything the tools generate for you.

3. Acceptable use

So that the site stays fast and available for everyone, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting.
  • Send spam, automated submissions or unlawful content through the contact form.
  • Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other visitors.
  • Present HTMLColor, its name or its logo as your own product or service.

4. Your content

Images you open in the image color picker are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us, so we claim no rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to use any image you open, and for how you use the colors taken from it.

5. Intellectual property

Individual color values are not ours to own, and the output of the tools is yours. The site itself, including its design, source code, written guides and the HTMLColor name and logo, belongs to HTMLColor. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back, but you may not republish the guides or copy the site as a whole.

The named CSS colors come from the W3C specifications. The Tailwind CSS color palette is published by Tailwind Labs and is reproduced for reference; Tailwind CSS is a trademark of Tailwind Labs Inc. HTMLColor is not affiliated with or endorsed by the W3C, Tailwind Labs or Google.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

We aim for exact results across all color models and standards (sRGB, OKLCH, WCAG 2.1), but the software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. HTMLColor makes no guarantee of legal compliance for accessibility beyond the published mathematical standards evaluated.

In particular:

  • Accessibility results are not an audit. A passing contrast ratio covers one WCAG success criterion for one pair of colors. It does not make a product accessible or legally compliant by itself.
  • APCA values are informational. APCA is not part of WCAG 2 and should not be cited as proof of conformance.
  • Color blindness simulations are approximations of how colors may appear, not a description of what any individual sees.
  • Colors look different across displays, and CMYK values are a mathematical conversion without a color profile. Always check a printed proof before sending work to print.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HTMLColor and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or the values it produces. This includes lost work, lost revenue, and costs resulting from a color, contrast or conversion result being relied on without independent checking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We may add, change or remove tools, and the site may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Because your recent colors and preferences are stored only in your browser, we cannot restore them if they are cleared.

9. Third-party links and services

Some pages link to external sites such as specifications and documentation. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. The third-party services the site itself uses are described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use HTMLColor after an update means you accept the revised terms.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
